All DOT v3 Applications are designed to work exactly the same way and share a large number of design features (see below).  This translates into reduced training time and increased productivity for everyone who uses these Applications.  For example, once an operator knows how to use a function to maintain customers those sames skills work for all other maintenance functions (vendors, inventory items, ...).  This ability to apply operator skills across all Applications is also true for all other function classes including transaction entry, report processing, and data inquiry.
